An impaired skin barrier is when there are signs of damage showing up in the skin. Damage in the skin enables moisture loss which makes the skin appear dry, dull, inflamed and sensitive.
The skin is an organ made up of layers that protect the body. This is done by locking in hydration. Without these 'layers' for example, the body will loose water and become dehydrated so its important to take care of the skin.
The causes of a compromised skin

barrier is most often a loss in the levels of natural ph found in the skin. This can be caused when we strip the skin from its natural oils by using harsh products, over exfoliating, using DIY ingredients and using alcohol and frangranced products.
Environmental pollution also plays a factor in compromising the skin. There is no cause for alarm because an impaired skin barrier can easily be restored with consistant care.
Simplify your skincare routine by removing all products with harsh ingredients.
Use products that are rich in protiens and vitamins and
Hydrate as often as possible.
A damaged barrier requires moisture so keep your body well hydrated and invest in skincare products rich in Glycerin and Hyaluronic acid.
